Kicking Things Off
So far, so good in Paris. I’ve been here for almost three weeks, and it’s already been a whirlwind. I’ve spent time with both local and international friends and family—at restaurants, iconic landmarks, their homes, and everywhere in between.
I’m still navigating the bureaucratic maze of establishing myself as a resident. For example: I need a bank account to open a phone line… but I need a phone line to open a bank account. Thankfully, my local family has been incredibly supportive and is graciously hosting me until I land a job and find an apartment.
I’ve had one interview so far and have been applying to more jobs every day. I’m especially looking forward to feeling more settled so I can fly back to Miami and bring over my future roommates (aka my cats), Thelma and Louise—who are currently living their best lives under my mom’s loving care.
I’d love to keep all my loved ones updated through this space since I’m not really into using Instagram, and honestly, I haven’t found a better alternative yet. Though… I’ve been toying with the idea of building a new kind of social platform—one that isn’t designed around addictive loops or the constant need for social validation. If I decide to take that on, you’ll be the first to know.
In the meantime, this will be the place to find updates on me and my life in Paris. Thanks for following along.
